Capturing Hope and Remembrance
This past weekend, I had the privilege of photographing Omaha's Collective for Hope's remembrance walk. The Collective for Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free, compassionate grief support and education to individuals, families, and the community. They believe that no one should grieve alone and offer a range of services, including peer support groups, camps and retreats, and educational workshops.
The remembrance walk was a powerful event, blending both uplifting community support and touching moments of reflection. The air was filled with a sense of unity as people gathered to honor loved ones. Many attendees wore buttons or carried mementos, personal tributes to those they were remembering. The age range of participants, and the loved ones they honored, from children to older adults, highlighted the universal nature of grief and the importance of coming together.
I was moved by the strength and resilience of the Omaha community. The remembrance walk was a testament to the power of collective healing and the importance of honoring those we have lost.
